Royal Palms and it's representative extorted monies from us after the death of our loved one. The loved one solace in her time on hospice was the 100% PREPAID plan! The understanding she was not leaving her children/grandchildren with monies owed.
They tacked on fees that were added in recent years and charged overtime) (all while they amended their copy of the contract. Almost 6 weeks later they have yet to even take down the name plate, much less update it! The area is in horrible disrepair and they did not clean it (as promised) prior her service nor in the weeks following.
The people putting her to rest, seemed to be taking a break from other grounds keeping duties.
Then they double charged the credit card and refused to acknowledge they had the monies for refund.

This is definitely not a well kept cemetary! No sprinklers so all the grass is dried up and dead when there is no rain. Now when it does rain there is a broken pump to remove the water so it is flooded in many areas where you cannot even get to those grave sites. Roads are almost impossible to drive on because of the large holes everywhere on the path that has not been fixed and likely will be since no money is being invested on any type of upkeep whatsoever!

Everytime we've asked about these issues we get the same excuses everytime which has been for 10 years now- no changes have been made and it feels impossible to get any to ever happen.

9/2/10 The last time I visited my parents' and grandfather's gravesites the grounds were in terrible condition. The roadway needs repair or replacement-cracked and extremely rough. I had to walk through knee high grass to the gravesites. The pond is overgrown with green slim. The trees, grass and foliage are dying and neglected. I pray that our dearly departed rest in peace by the grace of God. Although, I am very disappointed in the care of the cemetery and the consequent disrespect of the dead.

  • I wonder if Dawn simply didn't notice the roadways when any of her relatives was buried at Royal Palm. I have many family members there and my father has taught us how to drive there - with the slow limit and curving paths. The roadways have been that way for as long as I can remember and it not so bad that you'll hurt your vehicle. I've never seen knee high grass (visiting or in passing) except for areas where there are no plots where the space is used for other purposes like storage or mowers and such. The more nutrient-enriched a pond, typically the more algae you'll find. Apparently it can't be too bad since there are many ducks there and just yesterday a mother duck with a handful of good sized ducklings sat just at the ponds edge. If you simply contact them about something you have an issue with, they are always happy to help or to see to whatever complaint you may have that is within reason. A cemetery is a resting place for vessels not our dearly departed; despite the comfort we find there. I certainly don't go looking for the Garden of Eden.
